Yesterday was the possibly one of the worst days of my life...

Posted on February 16, 2012 at 5:18pm 6 Comments

Forgive me, but I need a place to air my thoughts. This is not a happy story so if that is what you are looking for, then I recommend you stop reading now.

I am housesitting for my uncle at the moment and yesterday was the day before my uncle left to visit friends in another city. I stayed at the house so that he could give me instructions on what to take care of while he is away.

The family cleaner brought her two year old son to work yesterday. I had only met him once before,…

My story... at last!

Ok, so I know I've been a member on TA for about a month now but I thought it's time to join the club, and share my story. :)

I grew up in a "good christian home". I went to church every Sunday. I even thought the story of Noah's Ark was quite amazing at one stage. My dad, still a devout christian, would take every opportunity he could to remind us to be grateful for all that god has given us. The article shows that in certain species of apes, severe violence within certain ape communities can be found to be largely political and ingrained within the culture of a group. This to me, provides yet another good argument for the question that so many creationists love to ask non-believers; That… Continue

Still trying to pass creationism as a scientific study in schools? Really???

Posted on June 3, 2011 at 10:57am 2 Comments

I'm completely gobsmacked that these creationists are so persistent with forcing schools to teach this non-scientific garbage. This subject has got old and tired and they need to accept that unless they can prove their creation idea as a theory (I mean theory in the scientific sense of the word), it's just plainly not science!

Why on earth can't they just let it go already? Don't they realise that teaching this doesn't contribute anything at all to science or the progress of mankind,…

Just look up Skeptics in the Pub on Facebook. You will see a very long list, but if you scroll down you will find Skeptics in the Pub Cape Town. Some impressive members. You should join. They seem to have meetings every month. Go for it!

Entirely my pleasure, Jon. Better late than never, indeed. You'd probably like to know something about me, I'm always late, shamefully late. So, it's cool. Nice to meet you. :)
