This is a reprint of a very recent blog post I wrote while musing half to myself... (Thanks, Gaytor!) My dad and his gfriend know of my atheist status. My whole family does, actually. It's never been…Continue

Genesis vs. Evolution

Random question that I wonder about often: how do Christians explain the various skeletons and/or partial skeletons of evolving man (Cro-Magnon Man, etc.)?  I've been meaning to ask my sister, but I…Continue

New Year, Still Atheist

Posted on January 4, 2012 at 1:46pm 0 Comments

I haven't been here in a while...  I was chastised for posting in the incorrect spot, and I felt rebellious against the rules and ran away for a bit.  I can be a child (and I don't care).  Plus, I was very busy graduating from nursing school, starting my job as a RN and also starting my nursing bachelor's program.  I also have heathens to raise and a husband to be a wife to.

I love being a nurse.  I love my job, I love my coworkers, I love my paycheck.  I'm a pretty happy camper…

Harvest Parties

Posted on October 21, 2010 at 1:30pm 6 Comments

Halloween approaches. My youngest, who is in kindergarten, is gearing up for her class party, which is still considered a "Halloween party" and she will be able to wear a costume and load up on sugar. My oldest, I have learned, has a few offspring of party-poopers in her class. Her teacher reported to my mother-in-law (who picked my little ladies up from school the other day) that she was still deciding on how to hold the party and that she will send out a letter soon.

The party will… Continue

Taking Advantage

I am currently participating in my psychiatric rotation for school. I attended the "Spirituality Group" today out of pure morbid curiosity. It was as expected, so I won't go into that.

What I thought about instead when I was driving home afterward was what would have happened if I was running that group? Here are these people in fragile mental states (they were all, by chance, simply people feeling very depressed), and I could lead them gently to examine what kind of omnipotent being… Continue

Through the Wormhole

Posted on June 22, 2010 at 4:24pm 6 Comments

Just a quickie blog. I just watched a recent episode of "Through the Wormhole with Morgan Freeman" concerning whether or not god exists and if we can "find" him/her/it.

I had not heard of A. Garrett Lisi before this, but I was very impressed with him. He is possibly on the verge of mathematically tying the forces that govern the universe via physics together. The show kept talking about how he was trying to "find the creator" via a mathematic equation, but Lisi himself stated that he… Continue

Hi M.. no problem! I sense the need is going to increase as we approach 2015 when the Millennium Development Goals have tio be achieved. I think it will all have a greater public profile and of course 5 of the Goals have a partial or total health element. It really is fantastic and life-changing. I am off to Sierrra Leone for the 4th time on 1st October, just for a week, then probably to Zimbabwe for my first visit mid/end of October.

Hi M.. thank you. I will hopefully be returning many times in the future. If you would like to join me I would love to have someone like-minded with me instead of the overwhelmingly god fearing people I have to deal with! Takes all my self-control.. believe me. I am probably going to Zimbabwe late October for about 10days.. to Insiza Region. My visits are for a maximum of 2weeks but mostly 7-9days at a time.

No baby yet. Thanks for asking, though! Momma is miserable and ready to be done with it. I'll post something on T|A soon after the stork arrives.

Hi M.
Professional diving basically means I get paid to lead tourists around underwater in open circuit scuba gear.

I also do deep stuff, too. I'm qualified for mixed gas and rebreathers, but I can't teach or do anything with anyone that doesn't have equal certifications there.

Can't wait for my baby girl! Any tips for raising girls?

And the puppy fur is very soft, indeed. Thanks!
